Eco-eclipse reduces energy consumption by over 40% Bradstow School

Client:  Bradstow School
Test site:  Bradstow School – main building including residential accommodation
Saving: 42.91%

Background

Bradstow School is a residential school, maintained by the London Borough of Wandsworth, for children aged between 5-19 years who are severely disabled with autism.

Last year, increases in fuel prices and demands on the boiler system at the school led to a significant and unavoidable overspend in this area.  In order to address this for the future, the eco-eclipse boiler energy management systems were tested in the main school building including residential accommodation.

Results

In November 2009, Energy & Environmental Systems Limited carried out a test of the eco-eclipse systems.  The test demonstrated a saving of 42.91% in fuel used and energy costs while maintaining a consistently comfortable environment for the pupils and staff.

“The school is committed to becoming as energy efficient as possible, to reduce environmental impact as well as to save money.  Despite this, it is absolutely vital that a comfortable temperature is maintained for our pupils, staff and visitors at all times.  I was delighted by the eco-eclipse test results.  The energy saving was extremely impressive especially as it was coupled with no reduction in comfort for our residents.  Now the system is installed and working consistently in the school, we look forward to maintaining impressive energy efficiency while keeping our buildings comfortable across the year.”
