Leading Surveyor Promotes the Eco-Eclipse
Background:
Notting Hill Housing is a new kind of housing provider; an entrepreneurial social business with almost 18,000 properties across London. One of these properties is Cherry Tree House in Brentford, West London. Cherry Tree House provides sheltered accommodation for 13 people in two wings. Heat and hot water is supplied via two Strebel CA76 gas boilers controlled by a Satchwell CSC. Calfordseaden, a leading UK firm of Chartered Surveyors and engineers, was looking to provide a solution to reduce Notting Hill Housing’s energy bills. Following an assessment of the eco-eclipse boiler management system, Calfordseaden had no hesitation in recommending a trial of its capabilities to the clients. Results:
An eco-eclipse boiler energy management system was installed at Cherry Tree House in 2008 for a month long “day on, day off” test. The system recorded savings against the existing boiler controls in excess of 50% which will see the eco-eclipse pay for itself in under a year. Following the successful trial Notting Hill Housing Trust commissioned installation of the eco-eclipse into a further five of their homes as the first phase of a planned product roll-out programme. E&ES have built up an excellent partnership with Calfordseaden and their third party maintenance company and work together to ensure optimum energy efficiency for the Notting Hill Housing Trust going into the future. “Energy & Environmental Systems installed their eco-eclipse boiler management system into one of our client's sites and their trial has demonstrated that the system can significantly reduce the level of gas used to heat the site.
